It was announced on my birthday, but my Friend Jess gets the brunt of this bullshit since it falls on hers. Next thing you know, we'll actually be forced to celebrate it lest we be cleaved in four and drawn upon the earth. I need no day of Loyalty. My loyalty has this day been undone by the desire of others to thrust such upon me. I am loyal to America. I am loyal to freedom. I am loyal to myself. I am loyal to the constitution that needs no day of loyalty thrust upon its subjects and adherents.
The Congress, by Public Law 85-529, as amended, has designated May 1 of each year as "Loyalty Day." This Loyalty Day, and throughout the year, I ask all Americans to join me in reaffirming our allegiance to our Nation.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2007, as Loyalty Day. I call upon the people of the United States to participate in this national observance and to display the flag of the United States on Loyalty Day as a symbol of pride in our Nation.

That's funny, May 1 is also Law Day.
See http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/04/20070428-1.html
How can it be two "days" at the same time?
I'm beginning to think that maybe, just maybe, this president of ours isn't paying attention. Or maybe he's just not that bright? Naw, there must be some simple reason for this mix-up.
It would also seem that it is Global Love day.

So that would equate to the fact that we are now legally obligated to be loyal to our country by spreading American Style love Globally on May 1st.
